PIFF Highlights and All-Stars 08 Week 8

Week 8 saw the end of the Vampirates undefeated run, which allowed the rest of the lead teams to get one step closer to the top of the pack.

Game of the week from last week: Davin's Pillagers went on to win their 7th game in a row as they win over the Red Burns from Harbor Coast. With Pirataly's loss this places the Pillagers tied with the best record at 7-1.

Team to raise the sails: The Snotvia Snotknockers were the only team to reach in the 30s this week, and they almost scored 40. They were able to stop their three game slide and are now only half a game out of a Championship Playoff spot.

Davey Jones Team: The Berry Isle Rum Runners once again are struck down by their defense. This week the Cincinnati Bengals allowed 35 points which sunk the Rum Runners chances, and left the team drinking grog in the galley.

Brawl of the week: Week 9 has two huge games, so there are two games of the week. The first is the 7-1 Vampirates playing the 5-2-1 Rebels. Both teams are in the top four and both need a win to keep pace with the lead group. The other huge game is the 7-1 Pillagers taking on the 6-2 Maties in another matchup between top 4 teams. The winner of this game will have a fair lead on the rest of the field going around the final bend of the season.

How are the All-Stars chosen if there is a tie? Just curious how out of a 4-way tie for QB All-Star came one winner...

Ok I lied, I'll post an answer here too.

When there is a tie for the points scored for an All-Star player the firs tie breaker goes to the team that scored the least amount of points, which means that player was more important to that team overall that week. After that I give it to the team with the fewer All-Stars over all, and if all else fails I look at the stats from the game and try to figure out who had a better day.

The tie breaking procedure is different however for Coaches. The first tie break goes to the coach with the higher score, since it is harder to score with a high percent and also have a high team score. The rest of the tie breakers work in the same way as All-Stars.
