PIFF Highlights and All-Stars 08 Week 11

It is getting to be that time of year that we have enough games amassed to think about how the scoring system is going. The big changes this year were the increase in Individual Defensive Player (IDP) points, and the return of negative points for DEF points allowed. I think that the bump in IDP points have worked out fine, overall they don't change too much, but every once in awhile a player will have a big game and rack out 6 or 8 points. Giving points to sacks does give importance to the DL, which was the goal. I am not as happy about the minus points for DEF. Overall our league is averaging lower scores than the NFL and I think that minus points for DEF is what is causing this. Next season I will rework the distribution of negative points, and prob drop the huge minus if the DEF allows alot of points. What are your thoughts? What needs to be changed and what needs to stay the same?

Remember that from now on football games start on Thursday.

Week 11 brings two more wins for the top two teams as they start to pull away from the pack and get ready for a run at the Championship. The Vampirtaes need to win just one more game to make it to the championship playoffs, Pillagers need to win two, and the Snotknockers can claim their spot with winning out the rest of the season. On the other hand everyone is still in the running for the consolation playoffs and only the &s and Rum Runners have no shot at the championship playoffs.

Game of the week from last week: The Red Burns continue their last season push (4-1-1 in the last six games) as they glide on by the faltering Maties. The win for the Red Burns has them holding the final championship playoff spot, while the Maties are now needing to get back on track to get in a spot to make the big playoffs.

Team to raise the sails: The Harbor Coast Red Burns once again are making a statement that they are serious about making it to the championship playoffs. They have faced tough opponents and have come out the best once again.

Davey Jones Team: Although the Maties are still putting up decent scores they have now gone 1-4 in the last five games. They once were in the lead pack running even with the Vampirates and the Pillagers but now they are scrambling to save their chances to get into the championship playoffs.

Brawl of the week: The Red Burns (6-4-1) once again have a statement game ahead of them when they play the 7-4 Snotknockers. If the Snotknockers win they will almost have a championship playoffs spot wrapped up, while a win the the Red Burns will put them in a solid position for the playoffs. As the season gets later the games get more important, and this is a big one.
